THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS TO PROTECT AND PROMOTE THE HEALTH OF THE PUBLIC IN PARTICULAR BY RECOGNISING LONG COVID-19 SYNDROME IN THE UK AND WORLDWIDE, AND BY UNDERTAKING RESEARCH INTO THE NATURE, CAUSES, DIAGNOSIS, PREVENTION, TREATMENT AND CURE OF ALL FORMS OF LONG COVID-19, INCLUDING THE DEVELOPMENT OF FINDINGS OF RESEARCH INTO PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS FOR PREVENTION, TREATMENT AND CURE OF LONG COVID-19 AND FURTHERANCE OF THAT PRIMARY OBJECT, TO PROVIDE INFORMATION AND RAISE PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING OF SUCH MATTERS.
