THE CIO AIMS TO REPRESENT THOSE INVOLVED IN LANGUAGE TESTING AND ASSESSMENT AT A EUROPEAN LEVEL, INCLUDING IN THE EUROPEAN UNION AND THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE, IN PARTICULAR BY:1. SHARING PROFESSIONAL EXPERTISE IN LANGUAGE TESTING AND ASSESSMENT2. INCREASING PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING OF LANGUAGE TESTING AND ASSESSMENT3. PROMOTING RECOGNITION OF LANGUAGE TESTING AND ASSESSMENT AS A PROFESSIONAL DISCIPLINE THROUGHOUT EUROPE AND BEYOND4. IMPROVING LANGUAGE TESTING AND ASSESSMENT SYSTEMS AND PRACTICE IN EUROPE AND BEYOND BY PROVIDING TRAINING IN LANGUAGE TESTING AND ASSESSMENT5.
