THE OBJECTS OF THE UNION ARE THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION OF STUDENTS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SHEFFIELD FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY:REPRESENTING THE STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY LOCALLY AND NATIONALLY, ORGANISING SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES TO MEET THEIR NEEDS, AND PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR THEIR INVOLVEMENT AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT.TAKING POSITIVE MEASURES TO ENCOURAGE AND BUILD A STUDENT COMMUNITY WHICH RESPECTS AND CELEBRATES THE DIVERSITY OF ITS MEMBERSHIP, AND SEEKING TO CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS OF STUDENTS ARE FREE FROM DISCRIMINATION, HARASSMENT AND INTIMIDATION ON STUDENTS' UNION PREMISES OR IN EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES ORGANISED BY THE STUDENTS' UNION.
