Charitable objects

The objects (‘Objects’) of the CIO are to promote, maintain, improve and advance education and the arts, in particular musical education and musical arts, in particular but not exclusively by organising, managing and providing orchestras, orchestral, instrumental, vocal and cross art-form performances and related educational activities. For the purposes of these Objects, ‘the arts’ includes but is not limited to music, drama, mime, dancing and singing. Nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the CIO fo the purposes which are not charitable in accordance with section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and section 2 of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
