THE OVERALL OBJECT OF THE ASSOCIATION IS THE CONSERVATION, RESTORATION, STUDY, SELECTION, AND IMPROVEMENT FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT OF THE NATIVE HONEY BEE OF BRITAIN AND IRELAND (APIS MELLIFERA MELLIFERA) AND OF NEAR-NATIVE AND LOCALLY ADAPTED HONEY BEES BY:(A) THE EDUCATION OF BEEKEEPERS AND THE PUBLIC AS TO THE IMPORTANCE OF THE NATIVE, NEAR NATIVE, AND LOCALLY ADAPTED HONEY BEES OF BRITAIN AND IRELAND, IN THE CRAFT OF BEEKEEPING AND IN SUSTAINABLE METHODS OF BEEKEEPING.(B) CARRYING OUT AND SUPPORTING APPLIED AND SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND STUDY INTO THE NATIVE, NEAR NATIVE AND LOCALLY ADAPTED HONEY BEES OF BRITAIN AND IRELAND, THE USEFUL RESULTS OF SUCH RESEARCH TO BE DISSEMINATED TO THE PUBLIC AT LARGE.(C) WORKING FOR THE CONSERVATION, PROTECTION, AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE PHYSICAL AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT INHABITED BY NATIVE, NEAR NATIVE AND LOCALLY ADAPTED HONEY BEES AND OTHER POLLINATORS TO SUPPORT THE SUSTAINABILITY OF LOCAL HONEY BEE POPULATIONS AND HONEY BEE HUSBANDRY
