THE RELIEF OF FINANCIAL HARDSHIP AMONG PEOPLE LIVING OR WORKING WITHIN THE PARISH OF BASSINGBOURN-CUM-KNEESWORTH AND CLOSE SURROUNDING AREAS, WHO IN THE OPINION OF THE TRUSTEES HAVE STRONG CONNECTIONS WITH THESE AREAS, IN PARTICULAR BY PROVIDING SUCH PERSONS WITH ALMSHOUSE HOUSING ACCOMMODATION WHICH THEY WOULD NOT OTHERWISE AFFORD THROUGH LACK OF MEANS, AND BY PROVIDING EXTRA-CARE ACCOMMODATION AND FACILITIES FOR BENEFICIARIES, WITH A PREFERENCE FOR RESIDENTS IN THE HOMES. TO FURTHER SUCH OTHER CHARITABLE PURPOSES FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE RESIDENTS OF THE ALMSHOUSES AS THE TRUSTEES DECIDE.
