THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS: TO ADVANCE EDUCATION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN THE UK AMONG ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE AGED BETWEEN 4 AND 25 IN SUCH WAYS AS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES THINK FIT, IN PARTICULAR BY: (A) PROVIDING GRANTS OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO INDIVIDUALS DESIGNED TO COVER TUITION FEES AND/OR ADDITIONAL COSTS DIRECTLY ASSOCIATED WITH COMPULSORY EDUCATION OR A COURSE OF EDUCATIONAL STUDY; (B) PROVIDING GRANTS OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS DESIGNED TO COVER THE COST OF OFFERING SCHOLARSHIPS AND TO ALLOW THEM TO COVER THE COSTS OF EQUIPMENT, SERVICES AND EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES WITH THE AIM OF ENABLING STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE FULL RANGE OF EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES OFFERED BY THE ESTABLISHMENT.
