THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE:(1) FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, TO PROMOTE TAMIL CULTURE AND HERITAGE, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY THROUGH THE PROVISION OF CULTURAL EVENTS AND CLASSES TO INCREASE PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE, AWARENESS AND UNDERSTANDING OF TAMIL LANGUAGE, HISTORY, CULTURE, VALUES AND TRADITIONS.(2) THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION IN NOTTINGHAM AND THE SURROUNDING AREA, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY THROUGH THE PROVISION OF CLASSES TEACHING THE TAMILLANGUAGE TO CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE.(3) TO PROMOTE SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY WORKING WITH PEOPLE IN NOTTINGHAM AND THE SURROUNDING AREA WHO ARE, IN PARTICULAR, SOCIALLY EXCLUDED ON THE GROUNDS OF THEIR ETHNIC ORIGIN, RELIGION, BELIEF OR CREED (IN PARTICULAR, MEMBERS OF THE TAMIL COMMUNITY) TO RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF SUCH PEOPLE AND ASSIST THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY, IN PARTICULAR BY:(A) PROVIDING A LOCAL NETWORK GROUP THAT ENCOURAGES AND ENABLES MEMBERS OF THE TAMIL COMMUNITY TO PARTICIPATE MORE EFFECTIVELY WITH THE WIDER COMMUNITY;(B) INCREASING OR CO-ORDINATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEMBERS OF THE TAMIL COMMUNITY TO ENGAGE WITH SERVICE PROVIDERS, TO ENABLE THOSE PROVIDERS TO ADAPT SERVICESTO BETTER MEET THE NEEDS OF THAT COMMUNITY; AND(C) EDUCATING THE PUBLIC IN THE CULTURE, HISTORY AND LANGUAGE OF TAMIL PEOPLE.
