THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO, BEING FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF MAKOKO IN LAGOS, NIGERIA, ARE ASFOLLOWS:(1) THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION BY PROVIDING OR ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF FINANCIAL AID,LEARNING MATERIALS, AND SUPPORT TO LOCAL SCHOOLS, ENSURING ACCESS TO QUALITY EDUCATION FOR ALLCHILDREN IRRESPECTIVE OF THEIR SOCIOECONOMIC BACKGROUND.(2) THE RELIEF OF POVERTY BY INITIATING AND SUPPORTING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS, THEPROVISION OF BASIC NEEDS AND FACILITATING ACCESS TO OPPORTUNITIES AND RESOURCES TO HELP LIFT THECOMMUNITY OUT OF POVERTY.(3) THE PRESERVATION AND PROTECTION OF GOOD HEALTH BY SUPPORTING LOCAL HEALTHCARE PROJECTS,PROMOTING ACCESS TO CLEAN WATER AND SANITATION AND FACILITATING HEALTH EDUCATION.(4) TO DEVELOP THE CAPACITY AND SKILLS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLYDISADVANTAGED COMMUNITY OF MAKOKO IN SUCH A WAY THAT THEY ARE BETTER ABLE TO IDENTIFY, ANDHELP MEET, THEIR NEEDS AND TO PARTICIPATE MORE FULLY IN SOCIETY.
