THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS:TO ADVANCE EDUCATION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN THE HISTORY AND CULTURAL HERITAGE OF THE CITY OF GLOUCESTER AND GLOUCESTERSHIRE AND THE PEOPLE WHO LIVED, AND LIVE THERE, THROUGH:A) THE CURATION AND PRESENTATION OF EXHIBITIONS, FILMS, AUDIO VISUAL AND WRITTEN DOCUMENTS, OTHER CREATIVE ART FORMS, LECTURES, TALKS AND WORKSHOPS IN EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS AND PUBLIC SPACES; AND B) THE PROVISION OF GRANTS TO SUPPORT ARTISTS, CHARITIES AND NOT FOR PROFIT COMMUNITY GROUPS WHO CURATE AND PRODUCE SUCH MATERIAL TO FACILITATE PUBLIC EDUCATION AND PRESERVE HISTORY AND HERITAGE FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS.
