THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: (1) THE PROVISION OF ALMSHOUSES IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT; (2) TO CONTRIBUTE TOWARDS THE COSTS OF REPAIRS TO THE FABRIC OF THE CHURCH OF ST PETROCK (THE CHURCH) IN THE ECCLESIASTICAL PARISH OF CENTRAL EXETER INCLUDING THE TOWER AND STEEPLE, AND OF REPAIRS TO THE BELLS AND THE HEATING AND LIGHTING INSTALLATIONS THEREOF AND THE FURNITURE AND ORNAMENTS THEREIN; (3) TO CONTRIBUTE TOWARDS THE COSTS OF MAINTAINING RELIGIOUS SERVICES AT THE CHURCH; (4) TO MAKE AN ANNUAL PAYMENT OF £600 TO THE MINISTER FOR THE TIME BEING OF THE ECCLESIASTICAL PARISH OF CENTRAL EXETER RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF THE SERVICES IN THE CHURCH FOR THE OFFICIATING MINISTER FOR THE TIME BEING OF ST MARY ARCHES IN THE CITY OF EXETER; (5) FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE RESIDENTS IN THE ALMSHOUSES OF THE CIO OR ANY OF THEM IN SUCH MANNER AS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES FROM TIME TO TIME THINK FIT; (6) TO CONTRIBUTE TOWARDS THE COST OF REPAIRS TO THE FABRIC OF THE PARISH CHURCH OF THE ECCLESIASTICAL PARISH OF ST. MICHAEL AND ALL ANGELS, HEAVITREE, IN THE SAID CITY; AND (7) TO RELIEVE EITHER GENERALLY OR INDIVIDUALLY PERSONS RESIDENT IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT (OR IN EXCEPTIONAL CASES IMMEDIATELY OUTSIDE THE AREA OF BENEFIT) WHO ARE IN CONDITIONS OF NEED, HARDSHIP, OR DISTRESS BY MAKING GRANTS OF MONEY OR PROVIDING FOR OR PAYING FOR ITEMS, SERVICES OR FACILITIES CALCULATED TO REDUCE THE NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS OF SUCH PERSONS.
