TO PROMOTE EFFICIENCY AND EFFECTIVENESS IN THE CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES OF NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANISATIONS, VOLUNTARY GROUPS AND CHARITIES WORKING WITH AND FOR THE BENEFIT OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE AND OPERATING IN THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF LANCASTER DISTRICT AND ELSEWHERE INCLUDING BY: 1) ENHANCING THE CAPACITY AND RESOURCES OF VOLUNTARY AND COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS TO HELP ACHIEVE POSITIVE OUTCOMES FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE; 2) CO-ORDINATING BOTH CHARITABLE AND NON-CHARITABLE AGENCIES THAT HAVE A COMMON GOAL OF PROVIDING CHARITABLE SERVICES OR RELIEF FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE; 3) MAKING GRANTS TO CHARITIES AND VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS THAT ADVANCE IN LIFE AND FULFULLING THE NEEDS OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE THROUGH DOING ANY OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING: A) THE PROVISION OF RECREATIONAL AND LEISURE TIME ACTIVITIES IN THE INTEREST OF THE SOCIAL WELFARE AND HEALTH AND WELLBEING OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE, DESIGNED TO IMPROVE THEIR LIVES AND INCREASE THEIR OPPORTUNITIES; B) PROVIDE SUPPORT AND ACTIVITIES WHICH DEVELOP THE SKILLS, CAPACITIES AND CAPABILITIES OF CHILDREN YOUNG PEOPLE, TO ENABLE THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN SOCIETY AS HEALTHY, HAPPY AND RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUALS.
