THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE:1) TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT THE PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH OF PEOPLE WHO ARE SUFFERING FROM, OR AT RISK OF, POOR MENTAL HEALTH; PEOPLE AT RISK OF SUICIDE AND SUICIDE PREVENTION; AND BEREAVED FAMILIES, FRIENDS, AND OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN IMPACTED BY MENTAL HEALTH ILLNESS AND SUICIDE, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, BY PROVIDING SUPPORT, ASSISTANCE, EDUCATION, ADVICE AND SERVICES AND CAMPAIGNING FOR THE PROVISION OF IMPROVED MENTAL HEALTH AND SUICIDE FACILITIES AND SERVICES;2) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN AREAS RELATING TO THE PRESERVATION OF MENTAL HEALTH AND RAISING AWARENESS OF MENTAL HEALTH CONDITIONS, POOR MENTAL HEALTH, INCLUDING DEPRESSION, ANXIETY AND SUICIDE AND REDUCING THE STIGMA ATTACHED TO MENTAL HEALTH CONDITIONS AND POOR MENTAL HEALTH.3) THE PREVENTION OR RELIEF OF POVERTY BY PROVIDING GRANTS TO INDIVIDUALS IN NEED AND/OR CHARITIES, OR OTHER ORGANISATIONS WORKING TO PREVENT OR RELIEVE POVERTY.4) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION BY PROVIDING GRANTS AND AWARDS TO STUDENTS IN FULL OR PART-TIME EDUCATION, AND/OR CHARITIES, OR OTHER ORGANISATIONS WORKING TO ADVANCE EDUCATION.NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE.
