THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS:TO RELIEVE AND PROMOTE THE RELIEF OF THOSE LIVING WITH DEMENTIA AND RELATED DISORDERS IN MERSEYSIDE, CHESHIRE AND THE SURROUNDING AREA, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY:(1) RAISING PUBLIC AWARENESS OF THE ISSUES AFFECTING PEOPLE LIVING WITH DEMENTIA AND RELATED DISORDERS THEIR FAMILIES AND CARERS (PAID OR UNPAID), BY PROVIDING AND PROMOTING EDUCATION, INFORMATION, AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS, WORKSHOPS, FORUMS, AND OTHER EVENTS.(2) SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF LOCAL NETWORK GROUPS AND LINKING GROUPS TO ENABLE THEM TO MAKE A LORE EFFECTIVE AND JOINED UP APPROACH.(3) SUPPORTING THE INCREASE AND COORDINATION OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH DEMENTIA AND OTHER RELATED DISORDERS, THEIR FAMILIES AND CARERS (PAID OR UNPAID), TO ENGAGE WITH THEIR COMMUNITIES AND TO ENABLE THOSE COMMUNITIES TO ADAPT SERVICES TO BETTER MEET THEIR NEEDS.(4) SUPPORTING DEVELOPMENT, IMPROVEMENT AND DELIVERY OF FACILITIES AND SERVICES TO MAXIMISE SOCIAL AND RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH DEMENTIA AND OTHER RELATED DISORDERS, THEIR FAMILIES AND CARERS (PAID OR UNPAID).(5) RUNNING SUPPORT GROUPS AND OTHER DEMENTIA ACCESSIBLE ACTIVITIES.(6) PROVISION OF SERVICES INCLUDING, CAMPAIGNING AND ADVOCATING FOR THE NEEDS OF PEOPLE LIVING WITH DEMENTIA, THEIR FAMILIES AND CARERS.
