THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS:FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT TO PROMOTE THE CONSERVATION, PROTECTION, DEVELOPMENT AND IMPROVEMENT OF ANDROMEDA BOTANIC GARDENS, BARBADOS, BY MAKING GRANTS OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO:A) SUPPORT THE MAINTENANCE AND UPKEEP OF THE GARDENS;B) ADVANCE PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE GARDENS, PARTICULARLY BY PROMOTING CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES, BOTH NATIONALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY; ANDC) PRESERVE, ENCOURAGE, SUPPORT AND ENHANCE THE SCIENTIFIC VALUE OF THE LIVING PLANT COLLECTIONS IN THE GARDENS, THE HABITAT THEY OFFER FOR INDIGENOUS WILDLIFE AND THEIR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPORTANCE IN THE AREA.
