(1) THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO (“THE OBJECTS”), ALL OF WHICH ARE LIMITED TO THE EXTENT THAT THEY ARE EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE ACCORDING TO THE LAWS OF ENGLAND AND WALES, SHALL INCLUDE, BUT SHALL NOT ONLY BE LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES, NAMELY TO: (A) ADVANCE EDUCATION THROUGH PROMOTING PRACTICAL STUDY AND ORIGINAL RESEARCH RELATING TO THE GEOLOGY, ARCHAEOLOGY, BUILT ENVIRONMENT, HISTORY, NATURAL HISTORY, NATURAL SCIENCES, ECOLOGY, BIODIVERSITY AND THE WIDER CULTURAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL HERITAGE OF THE COUNTY OF HEREFORDSHIRE AND ITS SURROUNDING AREAS AND FOSTER PUBLIC INTEREST IN UNDERSTANDING AND CONSERVING THE SAME; (B) SHARE AND PUBLICISE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE ARISING FROM SUCH STUDY AND RESEARCH. (2) THE MEANS BY WHICH THE CIO SHALL SEEK TO ACHIEVE AND FURTHER THE OBJECTS THROUGH ITS EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE ENDEAVOURS, SHALL INCLUDE, BUT SHALL NOT BE LIMITED TO: (A) MAKING RELEVANT INFORMATION PUBLICLY ACCESSIBLE THROUGH THE CIO’S LIBRARY, ITS PUBLICATIONS, AND THE DIGITISATION OF PUBLISHED AND UNPUBLISHED MATERIAL; (B) FINDING, DEFINING AND FUNDING AGREED PROJECTS AS APPROPRIATE, INCLUDING THOSE RELATING TO PUBLICATIONS AND TO FIELD, SCIENTIFIC OR DOCUMENTARY RESEARCH, AS WELL AS TO WORKSHOP SESSIONS AND PUBLIC EVENTS; (C) COMMUNICATING AND SHARING KNOWLEDGE, WHETHER THROUGH INDOOR MEETINGS, FIELD MEETINGS, DIGITAL OR SIMILAR COMMUNICATIONS, PUBLIC EVENTS OR OTHER ACTIVITIES THAT MAY SUPPORT THE OBJECTS, ALL OF WHICH WILL BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC FOR THEIR WIDER BENEFIT AS WELL AS TO MEMBERS; (D) ENGAGING WITH A DIVERSE RANGE OF AUDIENCES AND AGES; (E) COLLABORATING WITH OTHER PERSONS AND ORGANISATIONS THE OBJECTIVES OF WHOM OR WHICH ARE COMPATIBLE WITH THE OBJECTS; AND (F) IDENTIFYING AND APPLYING FOR RELEVANT GRANTS.
