5.1 THE OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY ARE, FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT: (A) TO PROMOTE HUMAN RIGHTS (AS SET OUT IN THE UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS) THROUGHOUT THE WORLD BY OBTAINING LEGAL REDRESS FOR VICTIMS OF HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSES: RAISING AWARENESS OF HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUES; PROMOTING RESPECT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS AMONG INDIVIDUALS, GOVERNMENTS AND CORPORATIONS AND TRAINING AND SUPPORTING FUTURE GENERATIONS OF HUMAN RIGHTS ADVOCATES.IN FURTHERANCE OF THE ABOVE OBJECT BUT NOT OTHERWISE, THE TRUSTEES SHALL HAVE THE POWER:(B) TO PROMOTE ACCESS TO JUSTICE, THE SOUND DEVELOPMENT AND ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE AND THE RULE OF LAW AND THE USE OF TECHNOLOGY TO PROMOTE HUMAN RIGHTS; AND(C) TO ENGAGE IN POLITICAL ACTIVITY, PROVIDED THAT THE TRUSTEES ARE SATISFIED THAT THE PROPOSED ACTIVITIES WILL FURTHER THE PURPOSES OF THE CHARITY TO AN EXTENT JUSTIFIED BY THE RESOURCES COMMITTED, AND THE ACTIVITY IS NOT THE DOMINANT MEANS BY WHICH THE CHARITY CARRIES OUT ITS OBJECTS.FURTHERMORE THERE SHALL BE A FOCUS, IN PARTICULAR BUT WITHOUT LIMITATION, ON PROTECTING THE RIGHTS OF WOMEN AND GIRLS, AND DEFENDING FREEDOM OF SPEECH IN PLACES WHERE IT IS THREATENED.
