THE FOLLOWING OBJECTS ARE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT :-TO ADVANCE EDUCATION PARTICULARLY FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE DISADVANTAGED DUE TO YOUTH, AGE, ILL-HEALTH, DISABILITY, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, OR OTHER SOCIAL OR ECONOMIC BARRIERS ACROSS THE UNITED KINGDOM;TO RELIEVE POVERTY; AND TO PROMOTE SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY PREVENTING PEOPLE FROM BECOMING SOCIALLY EXCLUDED, RELIEVING THE NEEDS OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED AND ASSISTING THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY.‘SOCIALLY EXCLUDED’ MEANS BEING EXCLUDED FROM SOCIETY, OR PART OFSOCIETY, AS A RESULT OF BEING A MEMBER OF A SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DEPRIVED COMMUNITY.THE CIO WILL FURTHER THESE PURPOSES BY PROVIDING FINANCIAL, PHYSICAL, AND PRACTICAL SUPPORT TO ENABLE INDIVIDUALS TO ACCESS EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES, IMPROVE LIFE OUTCOMES AND DEVELOP THEIR SKILLS AND CAPACITIES TO ENABLE FULLER PARTICIPATION IN THEIR COMMUNITIES.NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005 AND SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008.
