3.1 THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE, FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC:3.1.1 THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION AT THE SCHOOL OR THROUGH THE MEDIUM OF THE SCHOOL, IN PARTICULAR THROUGH THE PROVISION OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE TO THE SCHOOL, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE PROVISION OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR, BURSARIES, PRIZES, MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCES AND OTHER FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO PUPILS AND PROSPECTIVE PUPILS OF THE SCHOOL; AND3.1.2 SUCH OTHER ANCILLARY OR INCIDENTAL CHARITABLE PURPOSES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF ENGLAND AND WALES AS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES FROM TIME TO TIME THINK FIT, IN PARTICULAR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SCHOOL, ITS WORK AND ITS BROADER ACTIVITIES IN THE LOCAL AND REGIONAL COMMUNITY; AND3.2 "THE SCHOOL" SHALL MEAN THE ROYAL GRAMMAR SCHOOL IN THE CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE OR ANY SCHOOL FORMED BY THE AMALGAMATION OR MERGER OF THAT SCHOOL, OR ANY SUCCESSOR TO IT, OR ANY BODY OR PERSON DELIVERING EDUCATIONAL SERVICES ON ITS BEHALF.3.3 NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005 AND/OR SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008.
