THE FOLLOWING OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IF THE RESIDENTS IN THE PARISH OF POTTON HEREON KNOWN AS “THE AREA OF BENEFIT” AND IN EXCEPTIONAL CASES THE TRUSTEES MAY ASSIST SOMEONE WHO IS OTHERWISE QUALIFIED WHO IS RESIDENT OUTSIDE OF THE AREA OF BENEFIT OR ONLY TEMPORARY RESIDENT IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT:-(A) TO RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF PERSONS WHO ARE IN CONDITIONS OF NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS; (B) TO ADVANCE EDUCATION OF CHILDREN AND ADULTS WHO ARE UNDER THE AGE OF 25;(C) TO ADVANCE THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION AND TO FURTHER THE OTHER CHARITABLE WORK OF THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND; AND(D) TO SUPPORT SUCH GENERAL CHARITABLE PURPOSES AS THE TRUSTEES MAY IN THEIR ABSOLUTE DISCRETION DETERMINE ACCORDING TO THE LAWS OF ENGLAND AND WALES.NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH [SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005] AND [SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008].
