THE CHARITY'S OBJECT IS TO RELIEVE THE NEED OR DISABILITY OF PERSONS WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES AND/OR AUTISM LIVING IN GATESHEAD, SOUTH TYNESIDE AND THE NEIGHBOURING AREAS, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY THE FOLLOWING MEANS:(A) PROVIDING EDUCATION AND INFORMATION TO SUPPORT PEOPLE WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES AND/OR AUTISTIC PEOPLE TO ACHIEVE THEIR FULL POTENTIALS;(B) RAISING PUBLIC AWARENESS OF THE ISSUES AFFECTING PEOPLE WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES AND/OR AUTISTIC PEOPLE, BOTH GENERALLY AND IN RELATION TO THEIR SOCIAL EXCLUSION;(C) PROVIDING WORKSHOPS, FORUMS, ADVOCACY AND GENERAL SUPPORT; AND(D) PROMOTING SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY PREVENTING SUCH PEOPLE FROM BECOMING SOCIALLY EXCLUDED AND ASSISTING THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY.
