THE OBJECT OF THE CIO, TO BE CARRIED OUT FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN SUCH PARTS OF THE UK AS THE TRUSTEES SHALL FROM TIME TO TIME DECIDE, IS:TO ACT AS A RESOURCE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AGED BETWEEN 15 AND 30 FROM ECONOMICALLY AND SOCIALLY DISADVANTAGED BACKGROUNDS BY PROVIDING ADVICE, MENTORING, SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE AND ORGANISING PROGRAMMES OF ARTS, EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER ACTIVITIES AS A MEANS OF:A) ADVANCING IN LIFE AND HELPING YOUNG PEOPLE BY DEVELOPING THEIR SKILLS, CAPACITIES AND CAPABILITIES TO ENABLE THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN SOCIETY AS INDEPENDENT, MATURE AND RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUALS;B) ADVANCING EDUCATION; C) RELIEVING UNEMPLOYMENT;D) PROVIDING RECREATIONAL AND LEISURE TIME ACTIVITY IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE WITH A VIEW TO IMPROVING THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE; E) PROMOTING SOCIAL INCLUSION AMONG SUCH YOUNG PEOPLE BY PREVENTING THEM FROM BECOMING SOCIALLY EXCLUDED, RELIEVING THE NEEDS OF YOUNG PEOPLE WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED AND ASSISTING THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY’FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS CLAUSE, YOUNG PEOPLE FROM ECONOMICALLY AND SOCIALLY DISADVANTAGED BACKGROUNDS INCLUDE THOSE WHO EXPERIENCE UNEMPLOYMENT; FINANCIAL HARDSHIP; POOR EDUCATIONAL OR SKILLS ATTAINMENT; DISABILITY; ILL HEALTH (PHYSICAL OR MENTAL); DISCRIMINATION (INCLUDING ON THE GROUNDS OF SEX, RACE,DISABILITY, ETHNIC ORIGIN, RELIGION OR BELIEF, SEXUAL ORIENTATION OR GENDER REASSIGNMENT); SUBSTANCE MISUSE; FAMILY BREAKDOWN; POOR HOUSING, ENGAGEMENT WITH THE STATE CARE SYSTEM, OR ENGAGEMENT WITH THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE OR PENAL SYSTEM.
