THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE:1) FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, TO ADVANCE EDUCATION IN THE CONSERVATION AND RESTORATION OF WORKS OF ART AND OTHER CULTURALLY AND HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT OBJECTS (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PAINTINGS, WORKS ON PAPER, TEXTILES, FRAMES, SCULPTURE AND DECORATIVE OBJECTS) BY:A) PROVIDING EDUCATION AND TRAINING IN RECOGNISED CONSERVATION AND RESTORATION TECHNIQUES, INCLUDING THROUGH SUPERVISED PRACTICAL TRAINING, APPRENTICESHIPS AND STRUCTURED MENTORING PROGRAMMES;B) DELIVERING FURTHER EDUCATION AND SKILLS BASED TRAINING IN CONSERVATION AND RESTORATION FOR PERSONS WORKING OR TRAINING IN THE FIELD;C) AWARDING FELLOWSHIPS, BURSARIES OR GRANTS TO SUPPORT EDUCATION INTO THE CONSERVATION AND RESTORATION OF WORKS OF ARTISTIC, CULTURAL OR HISTORIC SIGNIFICANCE, INCLUDING ENDANGERED CONSERVATION TECHNIQUES AND HERITAGE CRAFT SKILLS;D) PRODUCING AND DISSEMINATING EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS, TALKS, EXHIBITIONS AND OUTREACH ACTIVITIES RELATING TO CONSERVATION AND RESTORATION;E) ORGANISING EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS, OPEN STUDIOS AND ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES FOR THE PUBLIC IN SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY SETTINGS.2) FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, TO PROMOTE ARTS, CULTURE AND HERITAGE BY PROVIDING PRO BONO CONSERVATION AND RESTORATION SERVICES, IN PARTICULAR TO CHARITABLE INSTITUTIONS AND COMMUNITY-LED PROJECTS, AND WHERE APPROPRIATE TO OTHER CUSTODIANS OF WORKS OF RECOGNISED ARTISTIC, CULTURAL OR HISTORIC MERIT, WHERE SUCH SUPPORT CONTRIBUTES TO THE PRESERVATION OF THOSE WORKS AND ENSURES OR FACILITATES THEIR ACCESSIBILITY FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION AND ARTISTIC APPRECIATION.
