THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE(1) THE PREVENTION OR RELIEF OF POVERTY BY THE PROVISION OF SOCIAL HOUSING IN THE FORM OF ALMSHOUSE ACCOMMODATION FOR PERSONS WHO ARE IN NEED, BEING INHABITANTS OF THE PARISH OF SAMBOURNE OR OF PARISHES ADJACENTTO THE PARISH OF SAMBOURNE AT THE TIME OF APPOINTMENT, PREFERENCE BEING GIVEN TO INHABITANTS OF THE PARISH OF SAMBOURNE;(2) APPLYING THE INCOME OF THE CLO FOR RELIEF IN NEED BY THE GIVING OF FINANCIAL AND OTHER ASSISTANCE TO THE FOLLOWING PERSONS WHO ARE IN CONDITIONS OF NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS, NAMELY (A) THE CIO'S RESIDENTS;(B) RESIDENTS OF THE PARISH OF SAMBOURNE; AND (C) PERSONS LIVING IN PARISHES ADJACENT TO THE PARISH OF SAMBOURNE (PREFERENCE BEING GIVEN TO THE CIO'S RESIDENTS AND RESIDENTS OF THE PARISH OF SAMBOURNE)(3) SURPLUS INCOME NOT REQUIRED FOR RELIEF IN NEED PURPOSES MAY BE APPLIED FOR OTHER CHARITABLE PURPOSES FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE PARISH OF SAMBOURNE AND THE PARISHES ADJACENT TO IT WITH A PREFERENCE FOR THE INHABITANTS OF SAMBOURNE.
