(A) RELIEF OF THOSE IN NEEDTO RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE IN ENGLAND AND WALES WHO ARE DISADVANTAGED BY THE IMPRISONMENT OF A PARENT, SIBLING OR OTHER CLOSE FAMILY MEMBER, TOGETHER WITH THEIR PARENTS, CARERS AND FAMILIES, WHERE THOSE PERSONS ARE THEMSELVES IN NEED BY REASON OF THAT DISADVANTAGE OR WHERE SUPPORTING THEM RELIEVES THE NEEDS OF THE CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE (?THE BENEFICIARIES?), BY:(I) PROVIDING MENTORING AND EMOTIONAL AND PRACTICAL SUPPORT TO CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE AFFECTED BY THE IMPRISONMENT OF A FAMILY MEMBER, INCLUDING DURING ANY PERIOD OF REMAND OR AWAITING SENTENCE, DURING THE SENTENCE, AND FOLLOWING RELEASE;(II) PROVIDING PEER SUPPORT, GROUP ACTIVITIES AND ONLINE SUPPORT TO THE BENEFICIARIES;(III) PROVIDING INFORMATION AND SIGNPOSTING IN CONNECTION WITH THE PRACTICAL AND EMOTIONAL EFFECTS OF A FAMILY MEMBER?S IMPRISONMENT, AND FACILITATING ACCESS TO OTHER RELEVANT SERVICES; AND(IV) WORKING WITH STATUTORY AGENCIES AND OTHER CHARITABLE ORGANISATIONS TO RELIEVE THE EFFECTS OF A FAMILY MEMBER?S IMPRISONMENT ON THE BENEFICIARIES.(B) ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATIONTO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE IN ENGLAND AND WALES AFFECTED BY THE IMPRISONMENT OF A PARENT, SIBLING OR OTHER CLOSE FAMILY MEMBER, PARTICULARLY WHERE THEIR ENGAGEMENT WITH EDUCATION HAS BEEN DISRUPTED BY THAT IMPRISONMENT, AND TO EDUCATE THEIR PARENTS, CARERS AND FAMILIES ABOUT THE EFFECT OF A FAMILY MEMBER'S IMPRISONMENT ON CHILDREN AND HOW TO SUPPORT THEM, BY:(I) PROVIDING ACTIVITIES AND SESSIONS THAT SUPPORT CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE TO STAY ENGAGED WITH SCHOOL AND LEARNING AND TO DEVELOP CONFIDENCE, RESILIENCE AND PERSONAL SKILLS;(II) PROVIDING WORKSHOPS AND SESSIONS FOR PARENTS AND CARERS ON THE EFFECT OF IMPRISONMENT ON CHILDREN AND HOW TO SUPPORT THEM; AND(III) WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SCHOOLS AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS TO SUPPORT THE EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE BENEFICIARIES.
