THE TRUSTEES SHALL HOLD AND APPLY THE TRUST FUNDS AND THE INCOME THEREOF UPON SUCH TRUSTS AS ARE CHARITABLE IN THEIR OBJECT AND IN PARTICULAR TO SPREAD THE KNOWLEDGE OF CHRIST THROUGHOUT THE WORLD AND TO FURTHER PROTESTANT MISSIONARY OR PROTESTANT MEDICAL MISSIONARY WORK AND THE FOLLOWING PROVISIONS OF THIS DEED SHALL TAKE EFFECT SUBJECT TO AND ONLY SO FAR AS CONSISTENT WITH SUCH PRIMARY CHARITABLE TRUSTS.
