The charity's objects ('the objects') are: (a) The advancement of education by promoting the study of the history of Unitarian and kindred movements in the United Kingdom and elsewhere; (b) The preservation, for the public benefit, of registers, architectural and other records, manuscripts, plate, pictures and antiquities relating to the congregations connected therewith; (c) The publication of historical documents and the “Transactions” of the Society. Nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the charity for purposes which are not charitable in accordance with section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and/or section 2 of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
