Charitable objects

(1)THE TRUSTEES SHALL APPLY THE INCOME OF THE CHARITY IN RELIEVING EITHER GENERALLY OR INDIVIDUALLY PERSONS RESIDENT IN THE PARISH OF PITMINSTER WHO ARE IN CONDITIONS OF NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS BY MAKING GRANTS OF MONEY OR-PROVIDING OR PAYING FOR ITEMS, SERVICES OR FACILITIES CALCULATED TO REDUCE THE NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS OF SUCH PERSONS. IN EXCEPTIONAL CASES THE TRUSTEES MAY GRANT RELIEF TO PERSONS OTHERWISE ELIGIBLE THEREFOR WHO ARE RESIDENT IMMEDIATELY OUTSIDE THE SAID PARISH BUT IN THE OPINION OF THE TRUSTEES OUGHT NEVERTHELESS FOR SUFFICIENT REASON TO BE TREATED AS IF RESIDENT THEREIN OR WHO ARE LOCATED FOR THE TIME BEING WITHIN THAT PARISH.(2)IF AND IN SO FAR AS, THE INCOME FOR ANY YEAR IS NOT REQUIRED FOR APPLICATION IN MANNER AFORESAID THE TRUSTEES MAY APPLY THE SAME:(A)FOR THE UPKEEP OF A RECREATION GROUND OR GROUNDS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE SAID PARISH; OR(B)FOR SUCH CHARITABLE PURPOSES FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE SAID PARISH AS THE TRUSTEES SHALL DECIDE.

Governing document: INCLOSURE AWARD DATED 26TH MARCH 1851 SCHEME OF 23RD MARCH 1981 AS AMENDED BY SPECIAL RESOLUTION (CONCURRED WITH BY THE CHARITY COMMISSIONERS UNDER S.74 OF THE CHARITIES ACT 1993 DATED 1ST MARCH 2002.
