TO PROMOTE THE RELIEF OF ILLNESS AND SUFFERING OF PEOPLE RESIDING PERMANENTLY OR TEMPORARILY WITHIN A 25 MILE RADIUS OF FERNLEIGH, 384 WOODBOROUGH ROAD, NOTTINGHAM, NG3 4JF, IN SUCH WAYS AS THE CHARITY SHALL FROM TIME TO TIME THINK FIT - IN PARTICULAR (BUT WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO THE GENERALITY OF SUCH OBJECT):1. BY FACILITATING AND PROMOTING THE RELIEF, CARE AND TREATMENT OF THE CHRONICALLY ILL, ESPECIALLY OF THE DYING IN THE PALLIATIVE CARE STAGE OF THEIR ILLNESS AND THE SUPPORT AND CARE OF THEIR FAMILIES AND CARERS OF THE BEREAVED;2. BY CONDUCTING OR PROMOTING OR ENCOURAGING OR COMMISSIONING RESEARCH INTO THE CARE AND TREATMENT OF SUCH PERSONS AS 3.1 SUFFERING FROM ANY TERMINAL ILLNESS AT THE END OF LIFE AND BY PROVIDING FOR THE DISSEMINATION OF THE RESULTS OF SUCH RESEARCH;3. TO PROVIDE OR FACILITATE EDUCATION AND TRAINING FOR PROFESSIONALS AND VOLUNTEERS ENGAGED IN PALLIATIVE CARE AND INCREASE AWARENESS AMONG THE GENERAL PUBLIC OF THE VALUES, PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICE OF HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE;4. BY PROMOTING THE ADVANCEMENT OF SPIRITUAL CARE, HELP, COUNSELLING AND GUIDANCE FOR SUCH PERSONS AS SET OUT IN 3,1, AND;5. BY PROVIDING A BEREAVEMENT SERVICE TO THE FAMILIES OF ANY PERSONS SUFFERING FROM OR HAVING SUFFERED FROM ANY CHRONIC OR TERMINAL ILLNESS
