Charitable objects

The objects of the CIO, for the public benefit, are:1 To relieve the needs of refugees, asylum seekers and displaced persons anywhere in the world who are in conditions of hardship, distress or social and economic disadvantage, by providing or assisting in the provision of humanitarian aid, welfare services, advice, advocacy and such other support as the Trustees consider appropriate.2 To advance the education and integration of refugees, asylum seekers and displaced communities globally for the public benefit, including (but not limited to) the provision of language support, skills training, cultural orientation and programmes designed to promote independence, participation and inclusion within society.3 To promote social inclusion for the public benefit among refugees, asylum seekers and displaced persons who are socially excluded or at risk of social exclusion, by preventing or relieving social isolation, assisting them to access services and supporting their integration into new or host communities.4 To advance human rights for the public benefit by promoting awareness and understanding of the challenges faced by refugees and displaced populations worldwide, encouraging tolerance, compassion and positive engagement within communities, institutions and the wider public.5 To undertake any lawful charitable activities ancillary to the above objects that support the welfare, protection, dignity and empowerment of refugees, asylum seekers and displaced persons internationally.
