TO PROMOTE THE SAFETY OF THE PUBLIC BY:A) MONITORING VOLCANIC HAZARDS, UNDERTAKING RESEARCH IN THEM AND DISSEMINATING USEFUL RESULTS IN ORDER TO PREPARE FOR AND MITIGATE AGAINST THE CONSEQUENCES OF VOLCANIC ERUPTIONSB) ADVOCATING FOR OR SUPPORTING MITIGATING ACTIONS, POLICIES AND PRACTICES THAT REDUCE THE RISK AND ENHANCE THE RESILIENCE OF VULNERABLE COMMUNITIES TO VOLCANIC HAZARDS AND BETTER PROTECT POPULATIONS AGAINST THE CONSEQUENCES OF VOLCANIC ERUPTIONS’C) DEVELOPING AND DISSEMINATING GRANTS FOR EQUIPMENT, EARLY WARNING SYSTEMS, AND RISK ASSESSMENT TOOLS TO THOSE AT RISK FROM VOLCANIC ERUPTIONS.
