3.1 THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE, FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, TO APPLY THE CLEAR INCOME (NAMELY YEARLY RENTS ISSUE AND PROFITS) ARISING FROM THE LANDS (“INCOME”) TOWARDS: (A) IN THE FIRST INSTANCE, THE BUILDING, REPAIRING, BEAUTIFYING, ENLARGING, AND MAINTAINING IN GOOD CONDITION AND REPAIR THE FABRIC OF SUCH PUBLIC EDIFICES CURRENTLY BELONGING TO WELSHPOOL TOWN COUNCIL (PREVIOUSLY BELONGING TO THE BOROUGH AND CORPORATION OF POOL); (B) IN THE SECOND INSTANCE, TO APPLY ANY SURPLUS INCOME TOWARDS THE BENEFIT AND RELIEF OF THE POOR AND DISTRESSED BURGESSES IN THE FORMER GEOGRAPHIC AREA OF THE OLD BOROUGH AND CORPORATION OF POOL/WELSHPOOL, IN SUCH MANNER AS THE TRUSTEES SHALL DETERMINE; (C) IN THE THIRD INSTANCE, FOR ANY CHARITABLE PURPOSES FOR THE GENERAL BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE FORMER GEOGRAPHIC AREA OF THE OLD BOROUGH AND CORPORATION OF POOL/WELSHPOOL AND THE SURROUNDING AREA, FOR WHICH PROVISION IS NOT MADE FROM PUBLIC FUNDS, INCLUDING BY THE PROVISION OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO ORGANISATIONS AND ASSOCIATIONS. 3.2 IN SUB-CLAUSE 3.1, THE TERM “LANDS” REFER TO LAND ALLOTTED TO THE ANCIENT BOROUGH AND CORPORATION OF POOL UNDER THE POOL INCLOSURE ACT 1761. 3.3 IN SUB-CLAUSE 3.1(A), THE TERM “PUBLIC EDIFICES” REFERS TO IMPORTANT, ARCHITECTURALLY SIGNIFICANT BUILDINGS WHICH ARE USED FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES
