THE CHARITY'S OBJECT (“OBJECT”) IS RESTRICTED TO IMPROVING THE LIVES AND RELIEVING THE NEEDS OF LOOKED-AFTER AND CARE-EXPERIENCED CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 5 TO 18, AND CARE LEAVERS UP TO THE AGE OF 25, FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, IN ENGLAND AND WALES, BY, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: (1) PROVIDING STABILITY FOR, AND SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF, LOOKED-AFTER AND CARE-EXPERIENCED CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 5 TO 18 BY PROVIDING SAFE AND NURTURING RESIDENTIAL ACCOMMODATION, TOGETHER WITH TAILORED CARE, SUPERVISION AND SUPPORT SERVICES, INCLUDING BY: (A) ADVANCING THEIR SKILLS, CAPACITIES AND CAPABILITIES TO ENABLE THEM TO MAXIMISE THEIR PARTICIPATION IN SOCIETY AND LEAD A FULFILLING LIFE; (B) MANAGING BEHAVIOURS OR PRESENTATIONS OF MEDICAL CONDITIONS AND/OR MENTAL OR PHYSICAL DISABILITIES; (C) SAFEGUARDING THEM FROM SELF-HARM OR ABUSIVE FAMILIAL AND EXTRA-FAMILIAL RELATIONSHIPS; AND (D) DEVELOPING SAFE, STABLE AND MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIPS; (2) PRESERVING AND PROTECTING THEIR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH THROUGH THE PROVISION OF THERAPEUTIC PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL AND MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT SERVICES; (3) ADVANCING THEIR EDUCATION THROUGH APPROPRIATE LIFE SKILLS TRAINING, EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMES AND MENTORSHIP, TO LEAD THEM TOWARDS INDEPENDENCE; (4) PROMOTING THEIR SOCIAL INCLUSION BY PREVENTING THEM FROM BECOMING SOCIALLY EXCLUDED, THROUGH ADVOCATING FOR THEIR RIGHTS AND ASSISTING THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY. FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS CLAUSE, ‘SOCIALLY EXCLUDED’ MEANS BEING EXCLUDED FROM SOCIETY, OR PARTS OF SOCIETY, AS A RESULT OF ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING FACTORS: CARE-EXPERIENCE, DISABILITY, UNEMPLOYMENT, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, OR ILL-HEALTH; (5) SUPPORTING THE NEEDS OF FAMILIES, CARERS AND GUARDIANS OF LOOKED-AFTER AND CARE-EXPERIENCED CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE CHARITY'S CARE, BY THE PROVISION OF RELATIONSHIP SUPPORT, TRAINING AND THERAPEUTIC SUPPORT SERVICES AND ADVICE, SO AS TO FURTHER THE WELFARE AND DEVELOPMENT OF THOSE CHILDREN; AND (6) SUCH OTHER MEANS, IN FURTHERANCE OF THE OBJECT ABOVE, AS THE DIRECTORS MAY DETERMINE.
