THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS, FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, TO ADVANCE EDUCATION, ARTS AND CULTURE BY PROMOTING AND ENCOURAGING THE ART OF FILM, THE MOVING IMAGE AND RELATED VISUAL MEDIA, AND BY PROMOTING PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE, UNDERSTANDING AND APPRECIATION OF FILM AND THE MOVING IMAGE IN THEIR ARTISTIC AND CULTURAL ASPECTS, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION: (A) THE EXHIBITION OF CINEMATOGRAPHIC FILMS, DIGITALLY OR ELECTRONICALLY REPRODUCED MOVING IMAGES AND RELATED VISUAL MEDIA; (B) THE ORGANISATION, PARTICIPATION IN AND PROMOTION OF FILM FESTIVALS, SCREENINGS, TOURING PROGRAMMES AND OTHER SUITABLE CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL EVENTS IN WALES AND ELSEWHERE;(C) THE PROVISION OF SUPPORT TO VENUES, FACILITIES, COMMUNITY CINEMA INITIATIVES AND ORGANISATIONS THAT PROVIDE THE PUBLIC WITH ACCESS TO THE ART OF FILM AND THE MOVING IMAGE, PARTICULARLY IN RURAL AND UNDERSERVED AREAS OF WALES; D) THE PROVISION OF PROGRAMME INFORMATION, CONTEXTUAL MATERIALS, TALKS, INTRODUCTIONS, WORKSHOPS, QUESTION-AND-ANSWER SESSIONS, PANELS, FACILITATED DISCUSSIONS, ADVICE AND EDUCATION CONCERNING FILM AND THE MOVING IMAGE.
