1) TO RELIEVE IN CASES OF NEED PERSONS RESIDENT IN THE PARISHES OF EGGLESTON, FOREST AND FRITH, MIDDLETON IN TEESDALE AND NEWBIGGIN IN THE COUNTY OF DURHAM AND THE PARISHES OF HOLWICK, LUNEDALE, MICKLETON AND ROMALDKIRK AND THE DISTRICT OF BALDERSTONE IN THE PARISHES OF COTHERSTONE AND HUNDERTHWAITE IN THE NORTH RIDING OF YORK WHO ARE SICK, CONVALESCENT, DISABLED, HANDICAPPED OR INFIRM. 2) THE TRUSTEES SHALL APPLY THE CLEAR INCOME OF THE CHARITY FOR THAT OBJECT BY PROVIDING OR PAYING FOR ITEMS, SERVICES OR FACILITIES WHICH ARE CALCULATED TO ALLEVIATE THE SUFFERING OR ASSIST THE RECOVERY OF SUCH PERSONS IN SUCH CASES BUT ARE NOT READILY AVAILABLE TO THEM FROM OTHER SOURCES.
