Enrolment scheme

iWhether a school has an enrolment scheme comes from the Schools Directory.Ministry of Education, Schools Directory.

Otago Boys' High School does not have an enrolment scheme, so it enrols students on an open basis, subject to its roll capacity.

Zone boundaries are not shown.

Understanding these measures

iPlain-English notes on how to read these figures.

EQI - Equity Index. The EQI replaced the decile system in 2023. It uses individual-level student data to estimate the barriers to learning in a school community. A higher number means more equity need, and more funding.

Enrolment schemes (zones). A zone manages roll capacity and gives local students priority. It says nothing about school quality.

Territorial authority. The local council area the school sits in.

Isolation index. A measure of geographic remoteness; a higher value means a more remote school.
