A school with a long and distinguished history of serving the local community. William Ellis School is a distinctive, dynamic and diverse school serving the educational needs of young people from our local community.
We are proud of our history and although much has changed since the school was opened by WIlliam Ellis in Gospel Oak in 1862 we keep true to our founders principles: We believe in developing students powers of reason and critical thinking skills; We aim to develop high standards of personal conduct which secures the future happiness and wellbeing of the individual and their community; and - We provide a curriculum well matched to the individual which develops their knowledge, skills, attributes and character so that they are ready to meet the demands of their future.
