Welcome to St Peter's London Docks CE Primary School! I have had the joy and privilege of being the head teacher of St Peter's London Docks since 2008 and have recently been appointed Executive Headteacher across both St Peter's and Stepney Greencoat CE Primary School. St Peter's has been described as "a modern school with deep roots".
That is certainly been my experience of a school deeply rooted within its community, celebrating diversity and enjoying close links with our parish church of St Peter's. The school was established in 1856 by Father Lowder, who saw the desperate need for education for "the poor of the Parish" and opened a small school in the clergy house on Wapping Lane.
Since then, St Peter's has gone from strength to strength. We are proud of our roots as a Church of England school, welcoming children and families of all faiths and none, but with a clear vision of an education based on Christian values (our school LIGHT values).
