iWritten by WhatSchool from official school data (Get Information about Schools, DfE and Ofsted).Follow the Road to Success is our motto as we hope to instil a culture of aspiration and ambition that permeates every aspect of school, learning and behaviour. We achieve high academic standards but, more importantly, go about achieving this the right way – by offering a dynamic and engaging learning experience where children feel inspired to learn.
Great teaching is at the heart of this and it is what drives us forward . As result we offer a range of experiences where children are encouraged to: accept opportunities, assume responsibilities and enjoy learning. Please view our website, not only to see this in action, but also the vibrant and ambitious school that we are!
Harold 'Dickie' Bird - Burton Road send their condolences after the passing of the late, great Harold 'Dickie' Bird - a Barnsley and Yorkshire legend. A great servant to the game of cricket and a famous ex pup0il, who attended our school's centenary celebrations in 2009.
