On behalf of the staff, pupils and governors, I am very proud to introduce to you Downsway Primary School. I hope that what you see and read will give you an insight into what makes Downsway a happy and successful school. During Children's Mental Health Week, the children enjoyed taking part in a range of activities focused on wellbeing and positive mental health.
One of the highlights of the week was a wonderful Mindful Brain workshop delivered by Katie Purdy. The children explored ways to better understand and manage their thoughts and feelings, learning helpful strategies they can use every day.
Throughout the week, pupils also took part in thoughtful discussions, sharing ideas about how to look after their minds and support one another. It was fantastic to see such maturity, kindness and openness across the school. It has been a week of learning, reflection and growing together.
