About

Mary Hare is a boarding and day school for deaf children and young people aged between 5 to 19. We have a number of exciting roles at Mary Hare in both our Residential Care Houses and within our school – see below and select a tab to see which roles are available.

Set in beautiful surroundings on a country estate just outside Newbury the Residential Care Houses are designed specifically for each age range and provide a home from home for all children who board during term times. We welcome applications from both experienced Residential Care workers as well as individuals looking for an exciting career change.

Applications for teaching roles are welcomed from both Teachers of the Deaf and teachers of hearing children. Teachers without a formal qualification to teach deaf children would be required to qualify through in-service training within 3 years of appointment. SEN point 2 would be awarded on completion. The opportunity to study for a Master's degree is also available.

We would fund these courses on your behalf. Further information on the advertised vacancies and completed application forms should be emailed to
