Founded in 1908, Gayhurst School has a proud heritage of educational excellence and a forward-thinking approach to learning.
Originally established as a boys' school, we embraced coeducation in 2008 and are now the only coeducational preparatory school in the area — a distinction that reflects our inclusive ethos and commitment to providing outstanding opportunities for every child .
Gayhurst is structured into two key stages: Pre Prep , which includes Nursery to Year 2 , and Prep , covering Year 3 to Year 6 . Across both stages, our priority is simple yet profound — to know every child as an individual. We believe that recognising and nurturing each pupil's unique talents is the foundation of a truly transformative education.
Academic challenge and pastoral care go hand in hand at Gayhurst. We encourage children to stretch themselves intellectually while ensuring they feel supported, valued, and confident. Our dedicated staff work closely with families to create a learning environment that is both ambitious and nurturing.
