We are a small primary school in rural West Devon, with just two classes and a preschool which means we can welcome children from 3 years old. Our aim is to offer a high-quality curriculum, which is tailored to the needs of our learners, and offer children every opportunity to be active and creative learners.
Our small size means that each and every child in our setting is treated as a unique individual. We are lucky to have high adult to children ratios, which means we can get to know each child and their learning needs really well, and respond to these accordingly.
We find that the school experience at Spreyton is pretty stress-free and calm for most children, and that children here play and learn with the whole school community, meaning that the younger children learn from and look up to the oldest ones, while the older children have a sense of responsibility for the younger ones. In many ways its like a big family!

Governing body (12 current, 0 former)
iMaintained school governing body (trust-linked).1 governor is linked to a profile (all confirmed).
Governors marked “Confirmed same person” have exactly the same forename and surname as the only officer of that name at the school’s own academy trust company on the Companies House register, so we treat them as the same person. The governance record itself comes from DfE.
