Overton CE Primary School caters for children aged four to eleven (Reception to Year 6). It was founded in 1847 as a Church of England Foundation. The current main building was built in 1969 and was designed as a semi-open plan school for 210 children. The school was extended and upgraded in 1998, 2001 and 2012.
We now have around 400 children in 14 classes with 2 classes per year group. The school was completely reclad in 2018-19 and everyone was really pleased with the results; the school looking like a brand-new building. In addition to the exterior changes, all classrooms have been repainted and have had new carpets fitted with new tables and chairs.
We are also hugely grateful to our OSA who have funded the replacement of the interactive whiteboards with brand-new touch screen panels and a new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) which opened in September 2021.
The main building has 12 classrooms, a purpose built music and drama room, a community room, a children's kitchen for curriculum cooking and a purpose built library and resource area. Each classroom has access to laptops and Ipads.
