About

Welcome to Oswaldtwistle St Andrew's Church of England Primary School, where we are committed to nurturing a caring, respectful and high-achieving learning community. We believe that every child should feel valued, safe, and inspired to reach their potential. Our Christian foundation guides how we treat each other, with compassion, integrity, and dignity.

From their first day, children are warmly welcomed into our school family. We pride ourselves on creating an environment where pupils feel cared for, accepted, and safe, no matter their background or ability. In fact, pupils say they are confident that everyone is treated with respect, no matter what their differences and see this in the way the school community operates.

We have designed a rich and engaging curriculum so that pupils build knowledge and skills in a logical, cumulative way from Reception through Year 6. Within this, we place reading at the heart of our work: Teachers continuously check pupils understanding in lessons and provide additional help where needed.

We recognise that in some subjects, assessment and monitoring tools are still maturing and we are committed to strengthening these systems to gain clearer insight into each child's learning journey.
