About

Pupils in schools in England if eligible can receive a range of Pupil Premiums, the school receives the money into their budget and the Headteacher is tasked with identifying the best way to use the funds to meet the needs of the young people and the aims of the funding.

At Astley Park School we receive the following Pupil Premiums: All pupils who are in receipt of Free School Meals and those who have been eligible within the last six years (Ever 6) receive a pupil premium grant. The aim of the funding is to ensure an equality of opportunity and to ensure that pupils are not disadvantaged due to reduced income within the household.

The funding enables schools to offer additional support to pupils so that they are able to achieve as well as their non FSM peers. Each pupil who is in a PLAA receives 1,900 per year.
