About

Menu You are here: About Us Our Federation The Windmill Primary Federation is made up of 4 local schools and makes it one of the biggest Primary organisations in the area. Each has its own unique feel due to size and location, ranging from a thriving and busy one class per year group down to cosy two classes for the school.

The schools are geographically close to each other being 4.9 miles between the two furthest apart. The schools work closely together and are led by an Executive Headteacher supported by a wider leadership team of Heads of Schools, who are 'based' in each of the four schools and a single Governing Body.

As a Federation we are able to work closely together as one staff to share best practice and allow for effective delegated leadership. This includes curriculum leadership responsibilities for individual subjects whereby a subject lead will work on improving provision in all schools whilst having a key teaching responsibility in one.

Working together in this way also allows us to create a bespoke pastoral team which includes significant support for our children and where needed, parents too.
