About

At Vernon Terrace Primary School, our nurture provision is an invaluable resource that bridges the gap between home and school. It provides a safe and secure environment where children can explore their emotional and social well-being, develop self-awareness, and grow in confidence.

We are committed to improving the health and well-being of children and young people by removing barriers to learning. The Rainbow Room and Star Zone play a vital role in our schools inclusion and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) provision.

Research shows that learning is most effective when children feel emotionally secure, have good self-esteem, and experience a sense of belonging. Our nurture provision offers this opportunity, helping children build resilience and emotional maturity. These spaces are not only places of support but also places of learning.

Our highly experienced staff are specifically trained to work with individuals or small groups. Sessions are engaging, interactive, and designed to support children through carefully chosen activities and resources. Nurture sessions run five days a week from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. Children attend for a 16-week placement.
