About

Welcome to be the best co-educational independent day and boarding school in the North East. We look to embed the development of character into everything we do, in order to prepare our children for future life and to excel academically, socially and morally.

At Mowden, we believe that good character creates a values-driven culture, which can help to improve attendance, behaviour, wellbeing and attitude to learning. As part of an inclusive community we respect and trust each other, promote equity and value different opinions and diverse voices.

Honesty is more than just telling the truth; it is about having integrity and being trustworthy. Being resilient means that our pupils are better able to cope with challenges, not giving up even when things are difficult. Independent thinking requires you to be an active learner rather than a passive recipient of information.

We want our children to be able to communicate clearly with others and express their views effectively and respectfully. At Mowden Hall School, a strong sense of community is the heart and soul of the school in school, in our local area and within our group of schools.
