About

Nescot provides full time or day-release places for a number of Year 10 and 11 students from schools in the area. The College is developing provision for 14-16 year olds who are finding it difficult to cope in a mainstream setting. Students are taught the national curriculum with English, maths, science, religious studies and sport being the core subjects.

Students can also follow some vocational tasters such as hair and beauty, cooking and construction so that they can develop an idea of their next steps. The timetable is personalised to meet the needs of each individual young person. The intent is to work with young people who are home schooled, have lost their confidence or are unable to attend school.

The provision is not for students who would be more suited to a Pupil Referral Unit. Classes are very small with a maximum staff/student ratio of 1:3. Applicants are referred to Nescot via their school or by their Local Authority . Students must have an EHCP.

If you are a parent or carer, and would like to find out more about 14-16 placements at Nescot, please book into one of our open events here :
